“The Gods of Mars” is a dark sci-fi and fantasy story, the second part of the John Carter series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. After returning to the planet Barsoom, John Carter finds himself in the seemingly perfect paradise known as the Valley Dor. However, he soon opens up that this paradise is far from what it seems. Controlled by a group of self-proclaimed gods called the Therns, the Valley Dor is a twisted utopia where unsuspecting arrivals are enslaved. As Carter delves deeper into this strange realm, he must navigate deceit, mythical entities, and dangerous confrontations in his quest to uncover the truth behind the supposed divine realm. Each step he takes could lead him closer to enlightenment or further entangle him in the enigmatic mysteries of the cosmos.
