ESA Astronaut Captures Stunning Timelapse Footage During Axiom Mission 4 to the ISS

ESA astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski shared captivating timelapse videos filmed during his recent 20-day mission on the International Space Station, part of the Axiom Mission 4, codenamed Ignis. The mesmerizing footage, captured from the Cupola—an iconic observation module featuring seven windows—offers stunning views of Earth and the Moon from space.

Launched on June 25, 2025, aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, Uznański-Wiśniewski conducted an impressive array of 16 scientific experiments during his time in orbit. Thirteen of these experiments were proposed by Polish institutions in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), while the remaining three were led by ESA. The research encompassed diverse fields, including human studies, materials science, biology, biotechnology, and technological advancements.

The Ax-4 mission represents the second commercial human spaceflight opportunity for an astronaut associated with ESA, showcasing the growing collaboration between space agencies and the private sector. The Ignis mission received financial backing from the Polish government and support from various organizations, including the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Polish Space Agency.
